Dr. Xavier Rottenberg obtained the M.S. degree in Phys. Eng. and the DEA in Theor. Physics from the “Université Libre de Bruxelles” in 1998 and 1999, respectively. He obtained in 2008 his PhD degree in Elec. Eng. from the KULeuven. He developed novel retrieval algorithms for remote sensing atmospheric data from space at the Royal Meteorological Institute of Belgium before joining IMEC Leuven in 2000. He contributes there to research in the field ofs RF, RF-MEMS, photonics/optics, phononics/acoustics and microsystems. In these fields, he (co-)authored over 150 peer-reviewed publications (h-index>20) and was issued various patents. He was lecturer or invited speaker at various conferences and workshops. He was further awarded the imec 2017 prize of the innovation. He currently leads at imec the development of phoXonic microsystems and wave-based sensors & actuators.
