DA1: Sensor Fusion & Real-Time Data Analytics for a Connected City
Smart Cities drive a massive demand for live data from sensors. By collecting, fusing, and visualizing sensor data in real-time, it becomes possible to respond to emergencies immediately and manage resources effectively. This session shows how sensor data was acquired and filtered with a System-on-Chip, fused with a Key Value Store, and visualized on both 2D and 3D dashboards.

DA2: Democratized Expertise: How to Discover Usable Intent with AI
This session explores the key component of Applied AI: intent discovery. Attendees leave knowing why finding anomalies is only part of a comprehensive repair/maintenance solution, with specific dives into understanding which anomalies indicate required action and how to build a system that understands the context behind a sensor reading. The session walks through understanding where anomalies come from, what they mean, and what needs to be done about them, and how extracting intent-data from other sources can provide the factors needed to take a solution from simple anomaly detection to a comprehensive intelligence solution.

DA4: AI & Machine Learning: From Algorithms to Prescriptive Analytics on the Edge
Machine Learning models can help you with anomaly detection and AI can identify manufacturing defects based on AOI camera images.  However, what are the algorithms actually doing?  This session gives an overview of machine learning and AI. It covers the basics of various types of algorithms and how breakthroughs in computer vision and speech have been possible with deep learning.  It examines why deep neural networks are so computationally expensive and how we can accelerate their processing on edge devices.  It wraps up with a demo of a day in the life of a data scientist, training a model for AOI image classification, containerizing it, and deploying it to an edge server.
