This session explores a new sensor technology that untethers the sensing function from power and processing functions. These wireless sensors operate using energy harvesting for power from a shared data processing and communications hub. This sensor architecture complements existing electronic sensors and enables the deployment in sensors in applications where it is not feasible to deploy a traditional electronic sensor network.
