Contactless forehead and in-ear thermometry is the most promising way of realizing body temperature in a mobile application. Small size, small field of view, and stable operation in harsh thermal environments are three necessary boundary conditions. Today, they cannot be fulfilled simultaneously by state-of-the-art infrared sensors. This session explains how these challenges were overcome in a novel sensor concept and includes a demo of a novel medical-grade sensor.
